Administrative Finance\/Contracts Associate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leticia was born and raised in Omaha. She attended the University of Nebraska Omaha and received a BS in Business Administration. Before joining the Department of Psychiatry, she worked in support roles related to accounting, executive assistant, and human resources. She is also not a stranger to UNMC. In 2011, she worked in the Pharmacology Department as an office assistant and then in facilities as an accountant\/HR associate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What made you accept a job with the Department of Psychiatry? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the past year I have been looking to get back to the Med Center.  I really enjoyed the culture and how everyone was so friendly and helpful.  I also loved the diversity of people at the university with so many cultures and wanted to work in an environment that provided that.  So, when I saw a role in psychiatry open, I was excited about the possibility of working in a new area on a more clinical focused side of the university. I\u2019m grateful for the work done here.  Mental health is such an important piece that makes a person whole, and I love how this department makes such an impact in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are your job duties?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have only been here a month and counting!  I will handle financial management for the research team, contract management for providers, facility requests, travel coordination, and will provide administrative support for Dr. Soonjo Hwang, Dr. Ashish Sharma, and PES Manager Jen Sparrock and their divisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What excites you the most about your new position? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like the variety of accounting and contract things I get to do and how every day is different.   I also love learning new technologies and am excited to use the different tools available for my role.  There is so much to learn, but I am taking things day by day and love how I can turn to my fellow team members to ask questions whenever I need help.  Everyone is happy to jump in and help me and I really appreciate that!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are some of your hobbies when you are not at work? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like to play tennis with my husband, my 12-year-old daughter, and 9-year-old son.  I also enjoy taking my little dog for a walk.  In the summer I love going swimming.  I want to try and do more bike riding this year, too!  Other hobbies for me are cooking and traveling.  I also love spending time with family whenever I can.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
