Clinical Research Associate<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harim Jeong\u2019s journey began in South Korea in the world of classical music, mastering the oboe and earning a master\u2019s degree. However, her interest in computers led her to pursue a PhD in Computer Science with a focus on Human-Computer Interaction. During her PhD training, she studied digital therapeutics, developing digital treatments for depression and conducting related clinical trials. She also ventured into designing ADHD diagnostic programs using virtual reality technology.<\/p>\n\n\n

What are your job duties?<\/strong>
At UNMC, with Dr. Soonjo Hwang in the Psychiatry Department, I’m developing a managing tool to streamline clinical trials, making them more efficient. I’m also involved in running these trials and writing papers.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What made you apply for a job at UNMC?<\/strong>
My first visit to UNMC was during a company visit for a clinical trial. I was attracted by the serene and nature-rich Midwestern city (I lived in NYC and Boston) and the supportive research environment at UNMC, which inspired me to join and contribute here.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What made you want to work in psychiatry?<\/strong>
My interest in psychiatry stems from my work on digital therapeutics. I realized mental health is an area where digital solutions can make a significant impact, especially considering the societal stigmas and the need for objective diagnostics in psychiatry. I’m committed to advancing digital interventions in mental health, enhancing both diagnostics and treatments.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are some of your hobbies when you aren\u2019t working?<\/strong>
When I’m not at work, I’m probably still glued to a screen, playing video games across all platforms. Additionally, exploring Omaha’s parks with my adorable Pomeranian, Mochi, is one of my favorite ways to unwind and enjoy the outdoors.<\/em>
