Harmful effects of stigmatizing language \u2013 April 18, noon to 1 p.m., in-person and via Zoom<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this session with Al\u00ebna Balasanova, MD, associate professor, department of psychiatry and director of addiction psychiatry education at UNMC, attendees will learn the importance of reducing stigmatizing language in medicine and ways that stigmatizing language impacts patient care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a hybrid event that will be held in the Sorrell Center, Room 2018. EPP will provide lunch for the first 30 people. Register here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the launch of the Emerging Professionals Program (EPP) back in 2017, the group has hosted numerous professional development events, given more than 688 hours back to the community and has grown to 650 members.
