If you have any questions, please feel free to email our recruitment chair at the address listed at the end of this page.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left\">\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">Rent starts at $400\/month, which includes Wifi and all other utilities. This is significantly cheaper than other apartment options within the area, and our members take out less money overall in loans because of this.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">Room quality increases from year to year so it is your advantage to become a house member as an incoming student. Room selection for future years is based on seniority, and within each class year by officer positions.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">The meal plan consists of two house dinners a week. Each house member cooks only twice a semester, so it is easy to pick a low-stress time to cook, then benefit from having Monday and Thursday dinners already made for you for the rest of the time.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div>Phi Chi is about five blocks from the Sorrell Center and most house members walk to class and avoid having to pay for a parking pass. It is also within walking distance to popular restaurants and bars in the nearby Blackstone District and Midtown areas.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div>\n<div>Many incoming house members pay substantially less for studying resources (such as First Aid and Pathoma) since upperclassmen usually pass down their copies.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>Having house members representing all four years of medical school is an extremely valuable resource to help guide your studying.\u00a0 They are also very helpful for dealing with the most stressful parts of medical school, like anatomy classes, the USMLE Step 1 exam,\u00a0 selecting or preferencing third and fourth year rotations, and the match process.\u00a0 It\u2019s great to come home and have dinner with people who have been through the same thing you are struggling with, and can answer your questions and give some helpful tips and tricks.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>By living at the Phi Chi house, you will also be surrounded by several classmates.\u00a0 Many people form lasting friendships by living in the house together, and medical school is much easier when you have others around who understand what you\u2019re going through and can listen.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div style=\"text-align: left\">\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>\n<div>Events at the house are organized around test schedules and include an Orientation Week BBQ, Around The World Party, and other parties\/social gatherings. Phi Chi&#8217;s location and amenities (large TV room, fire pit\/patio, pool table, etc.) make it a great place for socializing.
