Attendees must be able to attend both days in-person on UNMC\u2019s campus. Lunch will be provided.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Workshop Schedule:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Day 1 (October 7):&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Morning: The Unix Shell\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Afternoon: Version Control with Git\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Day 2 (October 8):&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Programming with Python (all day)\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/YggVUh2ZBC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Join the waitlist for this free two-day workshop.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous knowledge of the tools that will be presented is not required. This workshop is for learners with little to no prior computational experience. Instructors will put a priority on creating a friendly environment to empower researchers and enable data-driven discovery. Those with some experience will benefit as well. <a href=\"https:\/\/software-carpentry.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Learn more about Software Carpentry.<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Participants must bring a laptop with a Mac, Linux or Windows operating system (not a tablet, Chromebook, etc).<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This workshop is sponsored by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nnlm.gov\/about\/regions\/region3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Region 3,<\/a> a part of the National Institutes of Health. <a href=\"https:\/\/carpentries.org\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Carpentries<\/a> teach foundational computational and data science skills worldwide to improve data literacies across the globe.
