“Reading with a Researcher: Steve Caplan, PhD”

Join Steve Caplan, PhD, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, as he reads selections from his novels, which chronicle the lives of scientists and academia. His novels include Matter Over Mind, Welcome Home Sir, A Degree of Betrayal, and Saving One.

“Systematic Reviews 101” 

Join Christian Minter, MSLIS, and Emily Glenn, MSLS, to get a jump-start on the basics of organizing your approach and using tools for systematic reviews. By the end of this session, participants will be able to describe the systematic review process and locate resources to support the completion of a systematic review. Learn about open access within the scholarly community and how to leverage your rights as an author. Join Kevin Smith, MA, MS, JD, University of Kansas Dean of Libraries, as he discusses strategies you can use to share your research with the world. This is a live streamed event from Criss Library at the University of Nebraska Omaha.

“UNeMed’s 3D Printing Invent-a-Thon Presentations” 

The final presentations by those who participated in the multi-day “Invent-a-Thon,” which invites teams of high school students to design and 3D print a solution to a real-world healthcare problem. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team, with a reception to follow.
