PubMed and RefWorks classes announced

Multiple PubMed and RefWorks training sessions have been announced for the Fall semester.

PubMed

Whether you are a new PubMed user or want to improve your basic skills, this 90-minute session will prepare you for effective searching for peer-reviewed journal articles. Topics include constructing effective citation searches, locating the articles through the McGoogan Library collection, and setting up alerts to keep up with the research. This class is open to UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center personnel and students. The class will be held in the McGoogan Library’s Wilson Training Room – WH8011a, on:

  • September 8 – 9-10:30am
  • October 18 – 1-2:30pm
  • November 10 – 10-11:30am
  • December 20 – Noon-1:30pm

RefWorks: Citations and Bibliographies Made Easier

Learn how to create a searchable database from your MEDLINE, CINAHL, and PsycINFO search results. Use that database to insert citations and create bibliographies in your papers in just minutes. Reformat your paper for submission to a new journal in seconds. Learn how to do all this and more by attending one of our hands-on, RefWorks Basic Training Classes. The 90-minute class will be held in the McGoogan Library’s Wilson Training Room – WH8011a, on:

  • Sept 15 – 9:30-11am
  • Oct 12 – 10:30am-Noon
  • Nov 17 – 11:30am-1pm
  • Dec 15-9:30-11am
