March library workshops open for registration

The following free, hands-on classes are offered by the McGoogan Library for all UNMC faculty, staff and students. Register for the classes by e-mailing the class name and date you would like to attend and your phone number to: thartman@unmc.edu.

Beyond PubMed — March 8, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
You are familiar with PubMed, but what other information resources can be found at the National Library of Medicine Web site? This hands-on course will explore some of the databases association with the NLM Gateway resource.

Public Health Datasets — March 12, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Need help in locating health datasets? This class will give you strategies to use when looking for numeric datasets for your research needs.

Getting to Full Text — March 15, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
The Library provides access to thousands of electronic resources. Come and learn better ways to connect to full-text journals using a full range of tools.

Advanced RefWorks — March 25, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
This class is intended for regular RefWorks users who would like to gain more experience using advanced features and troubleshooting RefWorks problems.

Cited Reference Searching — March 29, 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Locating cited references is useful for: finding current articles on a topic; identifying top researchers and institutions in a field; and for tenure, promotion and hiring decisions. Learn about the many resources available through the Library.
