National Library Week events for campus

“Worlds Connect @ Your Library” will be theme as the McGoogan Library of Medicine once again celebrates National Library Week, which runs April 12-18. The McGoogan Library of Medicine connects you to the entire world of medical information. Visit your library and take part in these special events throughout the week:

 

  • Tuesday, April 14 — National Library Workers’ Day, e-mail askus@unmc.edu and share your stories about how the library and its workers have aided your research and clinical work;
  • Wednesday, April 15 — Campus-wide student, faculty and staff donut break from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the sixth floor of Wittson Hall and enjoy a sweet treat;
  • Food for Fines:April 12-18 — Library users with overdue fines can clear their records and help the local food pantries restock their shelves by bringing in unopened, unexpired cans and boxes of non-perishable food to the McGoogan Library of Medicine. For every box or can of food, the Library will clear $1 of overdue fines. The Siena/Francis House will benefit from this fine-amnesty program;
  • Summer Book Sale: April 12-May 1 — Popular fiction and nonfiction books and videos available for a monetary donation. All donated money goes to purchase new books for the Fontenelle Elementary School Library.
