{"id":2028,"date":"2018-12-28T09:12:42","date_gmt":"2018-12-28T15:12:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/?p=2028"},"modified":"2019-04-29T12:40:14","modified_gmt":"2019-04-29T17:40:14","slug":"showcasing-recent-unmc-id-faculty-publications","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/2018\/12\/28\/showcasing-recent-unmc-id-faculty-publications\/","title":{"rendered":"Farewell to 2018; a year of UNMC ID growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p><strong>2018 has been a year of growth for our Division of Infectious Diseases.<\/strong> We have added <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/2018\/10\/22\/unmc-division-of-infectious-diseases-new-faculty-announcement\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">several new faculty<\/a> to our group (and still actively hiring), continued to redesign the College of Medicine <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/2017\/11\/20\/infectious-diseases-clinical-faculty-participate-in-unmc-college-of-medicine-curriculum-re-design-training-the-physicians-of-tomorrow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Infectious Diseases curriculum<\/a>, established a new <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/2018\/05\/18\/interested-in-orthopedic-infectious-diseases-the-perfect-job-awaits-you-at-unmc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orthopedic Infectious Diseases service line<\/a>, expanded our social media presence, joined multiple national Infectious Diseases committees, and hosted <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/2018\/10\/12\/update-for-hiv-care-providers-and-educators-revived-and-reinvigorated\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two successful<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/2018\/06\/14\/what-happened-at-the-first-nebraska-antimicrobial-stewardship-summit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">regional conferences<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Amidst all of that, our faculty also published 80 peer-reviewed journal articles crossing several areas of expertise, including HIV, Biopreparedness, Infections in Solid-organ and Stem-cell transplant patients, Antimicrobial stewardship, Hospital Epidemiology &amp; Infection Control, and Infections in critically-ill patients.
