{"id":1979,"date":"2018-09-04T08:30:21","date_gmt":"2018-09-04T13:30:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/?p=1979"},"modified":"2018-09-04T08:14:13","modified_gmt":"2018-09-04T13:14:13","slug":"unmc-ids-dr-diana-florescu-wins-dance-for-a-chance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/infectious-disease\/2018\/09\/04\/unmc-ids-dr-diana-florescu-wins-dance-for-a-chance\/","title":{"rendered":"UNMC ID&#8217;s Dr. Diana Florescu wins DANCE FOR A CHANCE"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>Back in May, we were thrilled to announce that Dr. Florescu was participating in\u00a0YES Dance for a Chance<\/p>\n<p>Dance for a Chance raises awareness and money for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.yesomaha.org\/\">Youth Emergency Services (YES)<\/a> and the homeless youth of Omaha. There are hundreds of homeless youth in Omaha. Some of them have been emotionally, physically, or sexually abused, making it unsafe for them to return home, while others are facing health, mental health, or substance abuse issues. At the end of the competition, there will be 3 winners &#8211; the team with the most votes (money), the team with the best dance, <strong><em>and most importantly, the homeless youth of Omaha<\/em><\/strong>. More information can be found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/yesomaha\/\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. Florescu awed the crowd and won best dance,all while raising over $6000 for YES! She would like to also extend thanks to her dance partner, Derek Pasqualetto from Vintage Ballroom as her dance instructor, partner and for his graciousness in volunteering his time for this fantastic cause.<\/p>\n<p>We are so proud of Dr. Florescu for sharing her talent of dance with the community for such a great cause.
