Balance is the foundation of all human movement. Your ability to balance your body impacts all of your daily activity as well as your ability to perform more complex movements. As we grow older and less active, our ability to balance our body, both when still and in motion, diminishes significantly. By practicing balance, you can keep from losing yours.

Any movement or static position that challenges physical equilibrium qualifies. Stretching or strengthening exercises could be structured to include a balance challenge. Even activities of daily living could be used to improve balance like brushing your teeth while standing on one leg at a time.
