The goal of the series is to strengthen employees\u2019 skills foundation so that they experience the highest level of functioning in their current position and are motivated to advance forward as leaders in their current\/future UNMC positions.<\/p>\n<p>Through several sessions, Flores and Kohlscheen\u00a0gained personal insight about their work styles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe learned about the three\u00a0different leadership dimensions; Inspire, Respect and Rewards and their components would assist in being a better leader. \u00a0We also did several group actives on how these correlate with the UNMC\/Nebraska Medicine Values,\u201d Kohlscheen\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>Participants attended four sessions on a variety of topics including,\u00a0<em>Valuing People, Optimizing Our Work, Owning Change and Personal Development, Navigating Difficult Conversations,<\/em>\u00a0and<em> Values and Transformational Leadership.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Department of Family Medicine administrative associate, Dianna Flores, and student health associate, Cristin Kohlscheen\u00a0are recent graduates of the 2017 \u2018Foundations for Success\u2019 program hosted by UNMC. \u2018Foundations for Success\u2019 is a\u00a0career development and networking series for\u00a0Office\/Service staff of the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
