Wester Co-Investigator for CGAP IPE Grant

The UNMC College of Nursing recently received the Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment Practice Interprofessional Education (CGAP IPE) grant from the Accelerating Interprofessional Community-based Education and Practice

Department of Family Medicine Associate Professor, Rebecca Wester, M.D. served as a c0-investigator for the grant along with faculty from the College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and College of Medicine.

Dr. Wester will assist with implementation, evaluation, and dissemination of the initiative.

The two-year project will involve working with adult geriatric primary nurse practitioner students and pharmacy students in interprofessional activities, including modules, simulation, and clinical practice.

Dr. Wester is the CGAP training site leader. Grant support was also received from Ambassador Health Services. The Rehabilitation Center of Omaha is also a community partner for this initiative.

This week, Dr. Wester is attending the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education conference as a speaker for the “New Models of Care Require News Models of Learning Institute” in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
