Program Supervisor, Creighton HS-MACA

Creighton University is seeking a Program Supervisor to supervise the coordination of the Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) Grant along with Health Sciences – Multicultural & Community Affairs (HS-MACA) Pipeline Programs and Education Activities.  

Responsibilities for this role will include: 

  • Serve as COPC coordinator, prepare updates/annual reports, assist evaluation specialist with instruments, maintain database, plan and organize weekly Common Ground lunch program, assist with tutor training, recruit and monitor student researchers, serve as member of COPC scholarship committee.
  • Research new grant opportunities, assist with grant writing activities, assist with grant budgeting activities.
  • Supervise Pipeline Programs, manage data, assist with planning departmental events. Assist with education activities (electives) and CHA Training.
  • Develop newsletters on a quarterly basis.

About the Role

NHF Nebraska is looking for a Program Manager to join our team! Under the direction of the executive director, the program manager develops, implements, and facilitates the chapter’s education & community programs. Programs include, but are not limited to, Educational Dinners, Family Camp, teen programming, the UNITE for Bleeding Disorders Walk, Annual Education Weekend, New Parent Information Groups and Advocacy Trainings.

The program manager must have the ability to self-motivate and project manage multiple projects at once. We are looking for someone with high energy to mobilize our community and volunteers towards the work of the chapter. Nights and weekends for chapter events will be required.

The program manager will also lead evaluation efforts, volunteer management, as well as budgeting and reporting as it relates to these programs and events. He/She/They must also have the ability to develop strong caring and professional relationships with constituents of The Nebraska Chapter of the National Hemophilia Foundation and will also demonstrate behaviors that support NHF’s commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and safe workplace as well as a commitment to NHF’s standards of behaviors of Accountability, Collaboration, Service & Support.

Nebraska Appleseed’s internship program is now paid at $15 per hour! Additionally, we will continue to offer fully remote internships to those living in Nebraska. Internships are part-time, averaging 10hrs/wk, and are possible for each semester (fall, spring, and summer)

Temp Community Health Liaison – 1 year

Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is a state agency that, “Helps People Live Better Lives” every day. The Division of Public Health within DHHS, has an immediate opening for a Temporary Community Health Liaison. This is a temporary assignment scheduled to last 1-year from the date of hire with the potential for extension or renewal. The Community Health Liaison acts as the main point of contact for the Community Strike Team developing and conducting communication plans with local entities requesting site visits, engaging local service providers and community entities in creating responses to recommendations by the strike team, and acting as liaison and facilitator for action planning/implementation. This role builds relationships with community partners; gathers input and feedback regarding community culture, needs, and pain points. The Community Strike Team serves the community by assisting local entities integrate business practices and requirements with infectious disease prevention. The Strike Team coordinates with community entities such as businesses, schools, social establishments, major events, sports complexes, airports, to provide infectious disease prevention assessment, logistics planning, training, education, response, prevention resources, identify problems, organize a response and deploy experts to address critical issues/instances. These functions are performed through the performance of disease investigation; determining root cause, path of spread, elimination of spread and establishing clear directions to prevent initial or re-infection, and then hardwiring change into the culture, environment and accepted business practices. The Strike Team will work with the local public health department to fully investigate the source of initial infections by back-tracing as well as forward contact tracing. The Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is a competitive, two-year, paid training program with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. PHAP associates are assigned to public health agencies and nongovernmental organizations in the United States and US territories, and work alongside other professionals across a variety of public health settings.

Throughout the two-year training program, associates gain hands-on experience that will serve as a foundation for their public health careers. After completing the program, PHAP graduates are qualified to apply for jobs with public health agencies and organizations.
