CDC School COVID-19 Mitigation Evaluation Fellowship

CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health, Division of Population Health’s School Health Branch is seeking 3 ORISE Fellows to support the evaluation of COVID-19 mitigation approaches in schools. The positions are funded for one year.

Ideal candidates will have some experience with COVID-19 related projects, have strong quantitative analysis skills, and/or know and understand education agencies and schools really well.

Community-Based Research Assistant (Part-Time Temporary; Located in Scottsbluff, NE)

PART-TIME TEMPORARY; LOCATED IN SCOTTSBLUFF, NE

A team of UNK/UNMC researchers are in search of a community-based research assistant to work 5-10 hours per week, for up to 1 year.

Will support research activities, including direct observation and other data collection activities for the Building Healthy Families Pediatric Weight Management program in communities in the Scottsbluff/Gering and surrounding area.

The position requires the ability to effectively work as part of a large interdisciplinary team, evening hours, reliable transportation, some in-state travel, and ability to complete the required training.

CDC PHAP Program: Application open

The 2021 application period for PHAP candidates is now open through 11:59 pm (ET), January 29. 

The Public Health Associate Program (PHAP) is a competitive, two-year, paid training program with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. PHAP associates are assigned to public health agencies and nongovernmental organizations in the United States and US territories, and work alongside other professionals across a variety of public health settings.

Throughout the two-year training program, associates gain hands-on experience that will serve as a foundation for their public health careers. After completing the program, PHAP graduates are qualified to apply for jobs with public health agencies and organizations.

Chief Medical Officer and State Epidemiologist for Community Health (Wisconsin)

The Wisconsin Division of Public Health has a current opening for the Chief Medical Officer for the Bureau of Community Health Promotion. This position also serves as the State Epidemiologist for MCH and Chronic Disease. The deadline to apply is February 8, 2021.
