Public Health Job Opportunities

Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program

Our nation’s current and future challenges make it imperative that the federal government recruit the next generation of public servants, especially with less than 7% of the full-time federal workforce under the age of 30.

The Partnership for Public Service, supported by Schmidt Futures, has created a new opportunity that will place students into the federal government over a summer to gain valuable work experience and make a difference for our country.

Participants in the program will receive:

  • A 10–12-week summer internship with two federal agencies and a variety of opportunities for students majoring in STEM, liberal arts, business and more.
  • $4,000 stipend to help cover expenses.
  • Professional development sessions and networking events throughout the summer.

Also, as a reminder, UNMC participates in the NU system’s Washington D.C. Professional Enrichment Academy program, so any COPH student doing a D.C.-based internship can gain additional value from that program. View more info here.
