Temporary Accreditation Support Coordinator

The DHHS Division of Public Health is seeking a motivated and self-driven individual to support the divisions accreditation projects as a Temporary Accreditation Support Coordinator!

This temporary assignment is expected to last 6 months from the date of hire.Examples of Work

This position will provide support to the Division of Public Health, Office of Performance Management and the Office of Community Health, in pursuit of national public health re-accreditation status. The key functions of this job are to provide coordination support for re-accreditation related activities, including scheduling and facilitating meetings, overseeing documentation collection, tracking progress to requirements, developing communication updates, entering data into a dashboard system, data support including collection and presentation development, participate in state health improvement projects and lead specific tasks in collaboration with teams, coordinate work groups for strategic plan activities, facilitate collaborative team efforts on specific projects, develop report templates, write report content, prepare meeting materials, delegate tasks and ensure task progress, general project management.Qualifications / Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in business or public administration, social/behavioral sciences, health sciences, public health, education, law or related field OR experience in the development of operational policies and procedures, performing quality assurance analysis/evaluation of programs; grant writing, contract management, or leading community based health/social care groups. Related coursework, training and/or education may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree on a year-for year basis.

PREFERRED: Project management skills and experience required, proficiency in writing and report development, strong communication skills and ability to lead groups, able to facilitate team efforts and delegate tasks, must be self-motivated and able to drive progress with provided guidance, must be adaptable to new projects and quickly comprehend and take ownership of responsibilities, etc. Must have experience with Microsoft products (Word, PPT, Excel, Outlook) – proficiency desired, some experience with data management.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The Managed Care Plans Administrator position for the Plan Management unit is responsible for the contract administration and oversight of the on-going operations of each of the Heritage Health contracts (UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, WellCare, and Nebraska Total Care) which provides the Medicaid covered physical health, behavioral health, and pharmacy services for Nebraska’s Medicaid population. These multi-year contracts have an approximate annual contract value of $400 million each, approximately $1.2 billion annually. Additionally, this position will be oversee the procurement, implementation, on-going operations for the Dental Benefits Manager contract which will provide the dental benefits for Nebraska’s Medicaid population through the managed care delivery system. (new paragraph) This position is also responsible for ensuring MLTC has the appropriate federal authority for the managed care delivery system under complex federal regulations, in addition to the managed care title 482 of state regulations requiring application of broad management practices, using significant judgment to interpret and apply applicable policies, statues, regulations, and guidelines. This position works closely with the Deputy Director of Delivery Systems and other Administrators within Delivery Systems and across MLTC in strategic planning, establishing long-range program requirements and objectives, and in developing high-performing leaders. (new paragraph) Nebraska Medicaid has undergone a significant transformation through internal reorganization, the implementation of the state’s new integrated managed care program called Heritage Health. The Administrator II will play a key role in this effort as the division continues to build and strengthen its team and develop competencies around contract management, quality improvement, and best practices in benefit design and value-based payments. NE DHHS Project Coordinators (short term)

Research Technician, UNL

Research Technician
University of Nebraska-Lincoln

The Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory and Pediatric Health Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln are seeking to hire a research technician. This person will have the opportunity to work across multiple National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded projects focusing on the interplay between cognitive development (particularly executive control), environmental factors, health behaviors and health outcomes. The projects currently involve collecting data from adolescents and young adults who have participated in an ongoing longitudinal study since preschool. Adolescent health behaviors and outcomes of interest include diet, physical activity, sleep, substance use, obesity risk and mental health problems. Young adult data collection will include neuroimaging paradigms with particular relevance to obesity risk. A variety of methodologies are used across projects, including computer-based neuropsychological tasks; actigraphy; online 24-hour dietary recalls; mapping of community environments; interviews and standardized questionnaires; and fMRI.

Position involves conducting lab-based data collection sessions, assisting with scheduling participants for sessions, and assisting in the processing of data after sessions. Sessions for the adolescent studies include administering computer-based tasks to adolescents, administering questionnaires to adolescents and parents, and preparing participants for out-of-session data collection procedures. Sessions for the young adult study include assisting the MRI technologist with the neuroimaging data collection protocol and administering questionnaires. Some evening and weekend hours will be necessary for conducting data collection sessions. Opportunities for involvement in research dissemination, such as national conference presentations and peer-reviewed publications, are available based on interest.

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, education, science, nursing or related health field. Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and have ability to work as a part of a team. Preferred qualifications include experience working with adolescents and/or young adults, experience with research or with testing protocols, and training and/or experience in neuroscience.
