Employee Health and Wellness Coordinator

The Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Employee Health and Wellness Coordinator.

This City-County funded position is responsible for oversight of comprehensive wellness program:  develop, plan, coordinate, market, implement, and evaluate evidence-based programs and initiatives, activities, and information designed to improve individual lifestyle habits and health status of City of Lincoln and Lancaster County employees and their families.  Duties involve planning, organizing, and overseeing health education, fitness, wellness and engagement programs to meet organizational goals and priorities.  Develops and implements the Health and Wellness Program marketing plan.

This position requires considerable knowledge and experience in developing and implementing health programs, especially those relating to nutrition, physical activity and chronic disease reduction using relevant health data and evidence-based approaches.  A dietetic background is highly desired.  This position is expected to exercise independent judgment and personal initiative in all aspects of the job.

Qualification:  Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in public health education, public administration or related field with 2 years experience in public health education; or equivalent.
Necessary Special Requirement:  Possession of a valid driver’s license when operating a vehicle is necessary for the satisfactory performance of assigned duties.

Hours:  Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, with occasional evening and weekends.
