Duties of this position will include surveillance to monitor trends and the evaluation of effectiveness of prevention strategies; technical consultation; dissemination of findings to policy makers, program planners, and health professionals; coordination of statewide activities; grant monitoring; report writing; and attendance at local, state, and national level conferences. The CDC Foundation seeks a full-time Project Manager to lead the implementation of a project that aims to assess current capacity and future needs for climate-readiness in a subset of local health departments. The Project Manager will be responsible for conducting a landscape analysis of the capacity of health agencies to address the impacts of climate change on health and their corresponding resource needs. The Project Manager will also convene an expert group of stakeholders in the climate and health field to inform the assessment and will share expertise learned throughout the project by creating documents with recommendations for future work. EIS officers are CDC’s disease detectives responsible for investigating and responding to outbreaks and other public health emergencies in the U.S. and around the world. Our Disease Detectives receive training and are placed either at CDC headquarters, field stations, or with a state or local health department. We are seeking service-oriented physicians, veterinarians, nurses, allied healthcare professionals, and doctoral-level scientists for the incoming Class of 2020, with training beginning on July 6, 2020.
