Humana is seeking an Analytics Consultant. As a Clinical Analytics Consultant, you will collect and analyze data on clinical condition populations and will report insights to support clinical program design.
- Collect and document business requirements for reporting and analysis initiatives
- Organize and analyze medical and health administration data for the clinical condition populations
- Identify and troubleshoot data anomalies and irregularities
- Participate in analysis, reporting, and insight development for clinical populations
- Understand and communicate technical and business aspects of data management and information support
- Ongoing maintenance, delivery and support of leadership for periodic reports
- Continually identify ways to improve and enhance current reports, increasing value and usability
- Aid in the development of algorithms for clinical condition identification based on health care claims
- Aid in the development and implementation of strategies for clinical analytics.
- Aid in the development of standardized processes for use across all clinical condition analytics.
- Conduct the independent research necessary to fully understand and utilize the required clinical data
- Undertake complex data integration activities
- Become a data SME and understand various sources of data
- Participate in the development of cutting edge analytic approaches and adoption of new tools.
- Perform additional ad hoc analyses as required.
- Ensure full and clear documentation of all processes.
Qualifications
Role Essentials
- Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, Biology, Biomedical Sciences or related fields.
- Possess strong analytic skills
- Prior experience with data extraction and analysis
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, especially around data acquisition and delivery
- Team player with strong interpersonal relationship, team building, collaboration and facilitation skills
- Ability to work closely within a small team or independently, assimilate data and information, make prompt decisions and share results with colleagues
- Excellent PC skills (including MS Word, and Excel) required
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Role Desirables
- Master’s Degree in a related field
- 2 -3 years experience with data extraction and analysis
- 2 – 3 years experience with statistical analytic software packages such as SAS
- Experience in working with large databases in a healthcare environment
