Durham Research Center (DRC-1) – Freight Elevators’ Floor Repairs – Shutdown

On Saturday June 30, 2018 from 8:00am until 4:00pm, the freight elevators will be (temporally) out of service.  UNMC’s Facilities Management and Planning will be replacing the vinyl flooring and underlayment in both of the freight elevators in the DRC-1 building.  We will have one elevator at a time down for flooring work.  When one elevator work is completed, then we will shutdown the next one.

The work will consist of cutting new flooring with a circular saw on the DRC-1 Dock Area, installing flooring with screw guns and applying adhesive to adhere the new vinyl. Noise will be minimal and there will be a slight odor from the adhesive.  There will also be some grinding of the new sub floor to assist with matching the elevator threshold. The work will be completed with the elevators located on the LB Level.

If you have any questions regarding this temporary shutdown, please contact me (Marvin Olson) at 402-510-7245 or by email at marvin.olson@unmc.edu  as soon as possible. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
