On Wednesday, December 6 and Wednesday, December 13, the normal electrical power will be interrupted for several minutes starting at 6:30 pm on both days. The power outage could be as short as a “blink” or last up to 5 minutes.
The following buildings will be affected:
- Administration Center (ADC), at 426 South 40th Street
- College of Nursing (CON), at 4111 Dewey Avenue
This interruption is necessary, so we can switch the circuits around that feed these buildings to prepare for maintenance work on the transformers this Saturday, December 9. The outage on December 13 is to return the circuits to normal configuration.
The power outage may affect receptacle outlets, computers, lighting, air handling units, supply fans, exhaust fans, fume hoods, motors, etc. throughout each building. If possible, it is recommended that computers and other pieces of sensitive electrical equipment be shut down prior to the scheduled electrical interruption as a safety precaution.
If you have any questions, please contact Neal Buxcel at 402-559-1829 or Matt Monaghan at 402-559-7188. Since it is vital that everyone working in the affected areas be advised of this, please mention this electrical power interruption to your colleagues. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
