On Saturday, November 11, 2017, there will be an extended interruption (shut off) of normal electrical power to the main electrical switchboard that serves all levels of the UNMC 4230 Building / Business Services Center (BSC) – Annex 10. During this time, normal power will be disconnected and only items connected to the emergency power supply will remain energized after experiencing several seconds without power and the automatic transfer switches operate. This will cause an extended outage to all receptacle outlets, computers, lighting, air handling units, supply fans, exhaust fans, fume hoods, motors, etc. throughout the building. Occupants of the 4230 Bldg. are encouraged to remove all personal items from refrigerators and ensure that all computer files have been saved prior to leaving campus on Friday, November 10.
The power outage is scheduled to start at 10:00 am and is expected to last no longer than four (4) hours. If possible, it is recommended that computers and other pieces of sensitive electrical equipment be shut down prior to the scheduled electrical interruption as a safety precaution.
This shut off will affect all areas of the 4230 Building with the exception of the ITS Data Center.
