Wittson/Wigton 3/26 Update

Progress Update:

  • Wittson Level 4 – Labs 4033, 4037, 4038 will be unavailable April 2-4 for abatement work. Wittson-> Sorrell and Wittson -> Bennett SKYWALKS WILL BE CLOSED due to hallway abatement
    • See attached highlighted area in orange
  • Level 4 – Work taking place in ceiling near service elevator. Elevator still in service for deliveries.
  • L8 South (Library) – Spent time this week mobilizing and grinding floors
  • L8 – Rare book room HVAC. Equipment submittals have been approved. Equipment is on order. ETA for equipment is April 15-22nd.
  • L7, Finishing wall flattening work in E->W hallway. Next week Wallpaper
  • L6 – McGoogan staircase – coordination on upcoming laminate work. Wallpaper touch ups happening May 8-18
  • L5 – Demo for the glass wall is complete.
  • L4 – Closed for construction on main east west hall.
  • Lab 4004 – HCI working on card access. Door hardware, changing east door to exit only.
  • L4/L3 – Working on 42nd street vestibule (exterior wall is removed). New glass framing and some glass has been installed. Continuing installation.
  • L3 Center Stair. Flooring work continues, punchlist
  • L3 – Hospitalist PH2 part 1 – Moving forward with adding a wall mounted screen.
  • L3 Hospitalist PH 2 part 2 – Data, punchlist.
  • Wittson Hall – Level 2 – adding 2 more data so computer can move for Comp Med.
  • Dimensional Innovations – Will be on L5 starting April 8.
  • AVISPL – Complete with Screen on L4 & L5. Working on items to finish up.
  • University Tower L3– open to traffic. Working on double door card access. Fixing existing electrified panics.
  • University Tower Exterior Restoration –South side starting week of Mar 29.
  • Heritage – Working on lighting, fire alarm, paint, HVAC balancing, punchlist.
  • Exterior – South Courtyard – Job trailer was moved. Site concrete work continues from circle to ramp.
  • Exterior – Northwall Plaza – Still working on sub grade drainage. It will be a push to be completed in May. Having additional issues with another electrical duct bank.
  • Exterior – Emile Ramp – prelim designs continuing on traffic control device.  

Schedule:

  • L8 South (Library) – Work to be completed the week of March 29 – (moving in shelves, installing doors, hardware, card access)
    • Schedule dates. Polish starts March 27. Shelving reassembly start March 29. New furniture April 4-17. Moving items north to south April 17-21. Surplusing items in 8N starts April 22.
  • Wittson Hall – Level 8 Hallway between elevator and library. Goal is to have this area walkable and dust free by April 15. Work to be completed the week of March 29 – Framing, Ductwork Drywall, ceiling framing, Work to be completed April 5-15 – ceiling lighting, inspections, ceiling pads.
  • Wittson Hall – level 8 NM Pulmonary space – Aug 21’ – pending previous phase.  
  • Wittson Hall – level 5 – working on quote for new or moving existing furniture.
  • Wittson Hall – level 4 – construction in east-west corridor including elevator lobby (elevators offline). Opening date TBD
  • Wittson Hall – level 4 – Coffee Cart – Dunkin is working on final construction plans. Tentative ETA on completion – June.
  • Wittson Hall – Level 4 – Skywalks will be out of service – see notes at top of page 1.
  • Wittson Hall – level 3 – 42nd street entrance/vestibule construction – coincide with opening of Heritage Center. Connection between hallway and vestibule will be under construction until Mid-May.

Williams Science Hall October 16 Update

Progress Update:

  • Building Access update – 2nd floor South entrance is closed 2 new, temporary, 1st floor entrances available.
    • 3rd floor East entrance with card access is unchanged (card reader is working)
    • Public elevators are operational!!!
  • 3rd Floor access to Central Stairwell is closing 10/15 for 3 weeks (CRA was 10/6)
  • 4th floor access to Central Stairwell will close for 4-6 hour window to abate the flooring and then reopened. The 3 week closure is cancelled at this time.
  • RO System Replacement almost complete
    • Estimated duration is 4 weeks – slight delay awaiting a final valve.  Water will continue to be supplied.
  • Air Handler 2 – shutdown of existing and tie-in to new unit – Tentatively scheduled for 11/9; this work is anticipated to last 5 days just like we did for AHU1 – CRA pending.

Phase 1:

3rd & 4th Floors

  • Punch list items near completion
  • Fume hood modifications are underway by Waldinger – 1 hour per fume hood (max) and light noise expected (drill).

1st & 2nd Floors

  • Glass railing system atrium stairs is onsite – installation almost complete!
  • Flooring installation is finalizing – Atrium stair area and main entrance remains
  • Above Ceiling and Electrical inspections complete
  • Room/door signage installation started, completion pending
  • Punch list walk by RDG 10/13
  • SFM walk for temp C of O – 10/8 – fire systems tested and space was approved to allow the elevators to be turned on and provide emergency exits through finished space. The exits are designated with cones, rope, barricades, and signage.

Phase 2:

  • Electrical demo and temp lighting is ongoing – focusing on 2nd and 3rd floors
  • Casework and full demo underway
  • Abatement of “black glue” beneath the flooring that was demoed will start week of 10/12
  • TC room design to include 2 separate rooms with one vestibule/ante room

Exterior:

  • Column Framing has started on North & South facades
  • Landscaping at main entrance – concrete planters poured and site cleared for paver installation

Williams Science Hall Update 8/21/20

Progress Update: Not a lot of change from last week as we wrap up Phase 1 levels 3 and 4 for partial occupancy

  • Domestic water shut-down – complete.
  • Air Handler 2 – delivery tentatively – September 1-2
    • Crane onsite on the East side of the building – 2 days
    • 1 day shutdown for tie-in – this will be October timeframe
  • Flooring installation 3rd floor in-progress
  • Ceiling grid installation – complete
    • Ceiling pads following final inspections
  • Final Above Ceiling Inspections for 3rd and 4th
  • Restroom tiling finishing on 1st floor; final fixture installation
  • New RO System & piping
  • Electrical and plumbing work is ongoing
  • HVAC ductwork for AHU2 almost complete in preparation for the unit’s arrival
  • IT closets are being outfitted from top down – floor sealed, cabinets installed; UPSs, etc.
