Williams Science Hall Update 12/6/19

WSH activities from this week and looking forward:

Phase 1 update:

Construction: Not much change – just everything is progressing.

  • Noise levels are constant and vary day-to-day
  • All floors:
    • Metal stud framing, walls and ceiling soffits, and drywall is being hung
    • Ductwork installation (supply/exhaust)
    • Electrical and plumbing rough-ins – restroom plumbing lines are climbing from floor to floor.
    • Fire sprinkler system design
  • Construction Phase 1 perimeter – complete
    • 2nd floor – new route maintains the CON/MSC thoroughfare.
      • EVS closet relocation to 3rd floor
      • Alexey office – relocation to 3017 – 12/12
      • 3017 copier moving to 4010!! – 12/11
      • Alumni Relations is moving to 2003A and B – 12/12

Safety:

  • Only authorized personnel in the construction areas and only with PPE
  • Please continue to report any issues (e.g. unexplained odors) as they arise

Exterior Work:

  • North and West facades still need painted – pushed to Spring

Other issues/items:

  • None at this time.

Schedule & Budget:

  • Phase 1 anticipated completion June 2020
    • Exhaust fan and AHUs – Spring 2020
    • IT infrastructure on order
    • Controls equipment on order
  • Budget items:
    • Firewatch
    • Fume hood ductwork for teaching lab
