Williams Science Hall 11-22 Update

Phase 1 update:

Construction:

  • Noise levels are constant and vary day-to-day
  • All floors:
    • Metal stud framing, walls and ceiling soffits, and drywall is being hung
    • Ductwork installation (supply/exhaust)
    • Electrical and plumbing rough-ins
    • Fire sprinkler system design
  • Construction Phase 1 perimeter
    • 2nd floor is partially complete – new route open which maintains the CON/MSC thoroughfare.
      • EVS closet relocation to 3rd floor
      • Alexey office – relocation to 3017
      • 3017 copier moving to 4010!!
    • 1st floor doors are hung

Safety:

  • Only authorized personnel in the construction areas and only with PPE
  • Please continue to report any issues (e.g. unexplained odors) as they arise

Exterior Work:

  • North and West facades still need painted – no change in current temperatures, may be pushed to Spring
  • Emergency exit from 1st floor tunnel walkway is complete.

Other issues/items:

  • Alumni Relations team will relocate to 2nd floor (2003A and B) as their area is adjacent to the main vertical HVAC shaft and critical work will occur in their current suite.
    • Move is planned 12/12-13 at this time

Schedule & Budget: No change at this time.

  • Phase 1 anticipated completion June 2020 – no further change.
    • Exhaust fan and AHUs – Spring 2020
  • Budget items:
    • Firewatch
    • Fume hood ductwork for teaching lab
