BHECN-ARPA Awardee Recruitment and Retention Resources

Below is a list of suggestions and resources the BHECN-ARPA Team is providing to assist awardees with the hiring of professionals, if needed.

Additionally, BHECN has connected with the Nebraska 3RNET Network Coordinator, Heidi Peirce, to discuss the ways in which 3RNET can assist awardees. 3RNET is a free recruitment, hiring, and retention resource for health care organizations and providers. Learn more about how 3RNET can help you here and here!

Starting Oct. 3, 3RNET is hosting their Annual Recruiting and Retention Academy. This is a six-part online training series specific to recruitment and retention for rural and underserved communities. To register for the academy, please contact Heidi Peirce (Heidi.Peirce@nebraska.gov or 402-471-0148) to obtain a code to register for the academy free of charge. The agenda for the academy can be found here. We are hopeful that some awardees will be able to utilize this resource!

Beyond 3RNET, BHECN suggests the following resources and tips to recruiting professionals:

  • List  openings on NEBHjobs.com.
  • 3RNET: This online recruiting tool, designed for health care professionals with an emphasis on rural and underserved areas. It is free to create an account and post a job. There is an upgraded option available, but it is not necessary to purchase. Heidi Peirce (Heidi.Peirce@nebraska.gov) is the local, Nebraska contact/coordinator. She will review the job and post it after you submit the job. Additionally, we believe you can review potential candidates on the database and contact them.
  • There are additional programs and resources available through the Nebraska Rural Health website. Some of these programs may not be relevant to your project or organization, but it is something worth exploring!
  • It is possible counseling programs/schools are willing to share your posting with alumni and recent graduates. If you have not done so already, you could possibly connect with program directors, office directors, or additional faculty and staff within these programs.
  • Potential agencies to help, if needed, but should be used as a “last resort”:
  • You are welcome to connect with Heidi Peirce (Heidi.Peirce@nebraska.gov) at any time to see if there is any additional assistance or resources the Nebraska Office of Rural Health can provide.

Please feel free to contact the BHECN-ARPA Team at any time if you have any questions or need assistance!
