It is easy to make assumptions based on our own background, experiences, and worldview. Learning about the perspectives of others and consciously challenging our own assumptions goes a long way in creating a welcoming environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Desi Bailey, MD&#8217;75 makes an effort to do this when providing care to her patients.
