Here&#8217;s more about Angelica in her own words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was born and raised in Hawarden, Iowa, and have called the Midwest my home for my entire life. I am looking forward to being able to stay in the area and pursue my passion for both teaching and Medical Laboratory Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After high school, I went on to attend South Dakota State University for a bachelor\u2019s degree in MLS and a minor in Spanish. I have over four years of experience working in rural hospitals in Iowa and South Dakota. I am currently enrolled at the University of North Dakota in their Master of Science in MLS program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my master\u2019s degree program, I conducted a literature review into how the modification of a student\u2019s studying methods can impact their academic performance. I wanted to see if identifying suboptimal studying methods and changing them would allow the student to achieve more academic success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Outside of the laboratory, I like spending time with my loved ones, swimming, reading, traveling, and playing with my parents\u2019 dogs.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Angelica Topete, MLS(ASCP)CM, is a new instructor in the Medical Laboratory Science program.
