{"id":7150,"date":"2025-04-15T07:30:00","date_gmt":"2025-04-15T12:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/?p=7150"},"modified":"2025-04-14T16:17:56","modified_gmt":"2025-04-14T21:17:56","slug":"sonography-faculty-publish-new-educational-approach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/2025\/04\/15\/sonography-faculty-publish-new-educational-approach\/","title":{"rendered":"Sonography faculty publish new educational approach"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\">\n<p>Several Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) faculty, Kate Wampler, Brandy Sundberg, Angela Ridenour, and Kim Michael, EdD, published an important article in the Journal of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStandardizing Sonography Pre-clinical Instruction Utilizing Peyton\u2019s 4-Step Approach,\u201d is one of the first publications to discuss the use of Peyton\u2019s 4-step approach for sonography pre-clinical lab instruction in an educational program. It is also one of the first to report its application in the synchronous virtual learning environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of their project was to use Peyton\u2019s 4-step approach to standardize sonography pre-clinical lab instruction between DMS educational sites and instructors. Peyton\u2019s approach consists of four steps: demonstration, deconstruction, comprehension, and performance.
