Here&#8217;s more about Dr. Clifton in her own words:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am thrilled to be joining the Division of Occupational Therapy Education at UNMC! I am excited to bring my experience as a pediatric OT and my experience engaged in community-based programming and research to my work and teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I was born and raised in Cheyenne, WY, where I attended the University of Wyoming and graduated with a BS in physiology in 2015. After graduating with my undergraduate degree, I worked within various community settings facilitating programming for children and youth with behavioral and mental health challenges. In 2017, I moved to Missouri where I attended the Program in Occupational Therapy at Washington University in St. Louis (WUSTL) and graduated with a Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) degree in 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shortly after graduating with my OTD, I was employed by WUSTL and worked as an occupational therapist providing in-home therapy to infants and toddlers post-stroke. During my time at WUSTL, I was a clinical fieldwork educator, lab instructor, and clinician mentor for pediatric course content. I was also involved in coordinating various programming including a 2-week summer OT program to introduce the field of occupational therapy to undergraduate students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, I remain affiliated with the Brown School of Social work at WUSTL where I collaborate on an initiative called HomeGrown StL on community-level initiatives to support the health, development, and economic mobility of Black boys and young men in St. Louis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I enjoy singing, spending time with loved ones, cooking, taking walks, listening to music, drinking coffee, and exploring local shops in the community. I have only been in the Omaha area since July, so I am looking forward to getting to know more about the UNMC and Nebraska community!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maribeth Clifton, OTD, OTR\/L, recently joined our Occupational Therapy faculty.
