The Awards and Recognition Committee and Research Development and Management Committee is pleased to announce the 2020 CAHP Awardees. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Elizabeth Wellsandt, PT, DPT, PhD, OCS<\/strong>, assistant professor\nin the Division of Physical Therapy Education, will receive the Significance in\nResearch Junior Faculty award. This award is based on accomplishments,\npublications, research that adds significant knowledge to the scientific,\nclinical, or educational community, and contributions to the College of Allied\nHealth Professions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alisha D. Wright BSRT(R)<\/strong>, radiographer at CHI Health Good\nSamaritan in Kearney, was selected as the recipient of the Excellence in\nClinical Teaching Award. This award recognizes a CAHP clinical instructor for\nexcellence in clinical teaching and significant contributions to the\neducational development of future allied health professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Kim Michael, MA, RT(R), RDMS, RVT, FSDMS,<\/strong> Diagnostic\nMedical Sonography program director, associate professor, and Anderson Distinguished\nProfessor, will be honored for Excellence in Teaching. Recipients of this award\nhold a faculty appointment in the CAHP and demonstrate outstanding skills in\ndirecting learning, advising students, and facilitating effective interaction\nbetween faculty and students and between students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The College will recognize <strong>Glenda Woscyna, MS, RD, LMNT<\/strong>, assistant professor and program director for the Medical Nutrition Education Division, for Outstanding Service to the Allied Health Professions. This award recognizes extraordinary contributions in health care, education or service that result in the significant advancement of the College and the allied health professions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please visit the CAHP Awards website to learn more about each of our winners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each spring, in conjunction with the awards ceremony, the CAHP sponsors an Evidence-Based\nHealthcare Forum. The 2020 \u201cin-person\u201d Forum has been canceled due to\nsocial-distancing requirements to address the outbreak of COVID-19. The poster\nportion of the Forum is moving to an asynchronous, virtual format, and posters\nwill be available for viewing electronically at the end of April on the Forum <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/research\/forum\/index.html\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The forum highlights student posters in three categories: educational\nexhibits, critical reviews, and research.
