The Summer Health Professions Education Program (SHPEP) will include the physician assistant (PA) profession this year and rotate to physical therapy (PT) next year.<\/p>\n<p>Nursing and public health will also now participate in the program previously known as the Summer Medical and Dental Education Program (SMDEP).<\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"http:\/\/paeaonline.org\/expanding-the-pa-pipeline-through-a-hands-on-experience\/\">recent article<\/a> on the PA Education Association website features UNMC and our involvement with the SHPEP.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For the first time, allied health professions will be included in a summer enrichment program for underrepresented students interested in health care.
