{"id":3890,"date":"2015-04-15T07:00:19","date_gmt":"2015-04-15T12:00:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/?p=3890"},"modified":"2015-04-14T16:44:43","modified_gmt":"2015-04-14T21:44:43","slug":"big-weekend-for-rste-students-and-faculty-at-nsrt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/2015\/04\/15\/big-weekend-for-rste-students-and-faculty-at-nsrt\/","title":{"rendered":"Big weekend for RSTE students and faculty at NSRT"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"panel body-content\"><div class=\"panel__container\"><p>It was a busy weekend for our RSTE students &amp; faculty at the Nebraska Society of Radiologic Technology (NSRT) Annual Conference in Grand Island.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Faculty Presentations<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Lisa Bartenhagen gave two presentations\n<ul>\n<li>American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Q &amp; A Session for Students<\/li>\n<li>ARRT Standards of Ethics \u2013 Overview for Technologists<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Jim Temme presented a lecture titled Forensic Radiography &amp; the Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team: A Radiographers Experience<\/li>\n<li>Tanya Custer &amp; Christina Greg presented a lecture titled The Role of the Radiologic Technologist in the Clinical Management of the Ebola Patient<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong>Faculty Awards<\/strong><\/strong>\n<div id=\"attachment_3892\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2015\/04\/tanya-custer-nsrt-award.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3892\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-3892\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2015\/04\/tanya-custer-nsrt-award-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Tanya Custer\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3892\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Tanya Custer<\/p><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Tanya Custer was presented with the Sister Francis Salesia Memorial Award &amp; presented a lecture in honor of the award.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Faculty Board Member Elections<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li>Christina Gregg has served on the NSRT board for the past year (2014-2015) as Vice President &amp; was re-elected in the position for the upcoming year.<\/li>\n<li>Tanya Custer was elected as President Elect for the upcoming year &amp; also served as the student bowl coordinator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The conference was once again, very successful for the students &amp; faculty; the following is a list of honors &amp; awards received.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UNMC NSRT Student Board Representatives were honored:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Blair Dixon (DMS)<\/li>\n<li>Nolan Vasa (RT)<\/li>\n<li>Jessica Backhaus (RTT)<\/li>\n<li>Justin Williams (CVIT)<\/li>\n<li>Kayla Mendlik (MRI)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Registered Technologist \/Full time student scientific essay competition winner:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First Place \u2013 Carlos Rangel (MRI) &#8211; \u201cThe Relationship Between MRI and Multiple Sclerosis\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Second Place \u2013 Kayla Mendlik (MRI) &#8211; \u201cClinical Presentation and Imagine Evaluation of Stroke\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Student scientific essay competition winner<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>First Place \u2013 Katelyn Moravec (RT) &#8211; \u201cPicture Perfect?
