The classes offered can be taken to complete a Bachelor of General Studies degree (BGS), a Bachelor of Science degree (BS), a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA), or just for fun!<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>The BGS degree is a fully accredited 125 hour undergraduate degree program for students 21 and older. With a BGS degree, you can either choose to focus on one of over 40 areas of concentration ranging from Healthcare Administration to Theatre, or concentrate on three areas of emphasis. The BGS program also gives students the opportunity to complete their degree online. Another advantage to this program is that all credits previously earned at an accredited institution will count towards your degree. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>Fall 2009 Information:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>Dates: August 24, 2009 to December 6, 2009<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>Location: Bennett Hall, Room 2020<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>Time: 5:00 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>The following UNO courses will be available at UNMC this fall: <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>\u2022<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>BRCT 1050: Film History and Appreciation &#8212; Wednesdays from 5 to 7:50 p.m. in Bennett Hall, Room 2020. The course will be taught by Michael Krainak and will examine aesthetic values of the motion picture, the history of the film and survey the elements involved. 3 credits<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>\u2022<span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>SPCH 1110: Public Speaking Fundamentals &#8212; Thursdays from 5 to 7:50 p.m. in Bennett Hall, Room 2020. The course will be taught by Angela Miller and will focus on basic principles of audience adaptation, invention, organization, development of ideas and presentation of speeches and the critical analysis of oral presentations. Each student will design and present a minimum of four public speeches. 3 credits<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNoSpacing\" style=\"margin: 0in 0in 0pt\"><span>Employees can use their Scholarship Credits to enroll in the classes.
