Here&#8217;s the first installment:<\/p>\n<p>Tessellation (or Tiling) is a pattern of shapes that fit perfectly together.<a href=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2012\/07\/tiles.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-2197\" title=\"tiles\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.unmc.edu\/alliedhealth\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/34\/2012\/07\/tiles.gif\" width=\"170\" height=\"110\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Historically (pre 2010), Subway sandwich artists placed cheese on sandwiches in a semi-random (i.e. non-tessellating) pattern resulting in uneven cheese coverage and a less than satisfying sandwich experience.
