Changing from Light version of Outlook Web

Question:  I can only get the light version off-campus. Everyone else I have talked to gets something with decent functionality. I cannot underline or bold or change color or delete attachments or set up contact groups or do much of anything with this light version. Hoping you can help me.

Answer: The same thing happened to me when I first started using it. The reason is, the first time I used it I checked the low vision option (because I’m very nearsighted, I thought I’d try it). But that initial login sets the default to light version if you check that option. In my classes I tell people not to check it. Here is how you change it back to get the full web interface.

  1. Go back to the Outlook web mail
  2. From the light OWA version click Options (upper right)
  3. Click Accessibility
  4. Uncheck “Use the blind and low vision experience” and click Save 5. You must log out and back in again before you see the full web view.
