The Douglas County Health Department is preparing to conduct the Nutrition Environment Measures Survey (NEMS) assessment in local retail food outlets (grocery and convenience stores). The Fund for Global Health works on advocacy for global health solutions with the greatest potential to avert preventable death and disability. Current efforts include grassroots lobbying to increase U.S. foreign assistance for selected global health programs, and negotiating with the World Bank. Interns work on a team which is recruiting and training student interns and citizen volunteers, and urging key Members of Congress on the subcommittees of Appropriations to increase U.S. funding levels for programs addressing maternal and child health, immunization, and tuberculosis. VOLUNTEER RESEARCH POSITION IN DIVISION OF NEUROPSYCHOLOGY, DEPARTMENT OF NEUROLOGICAL SCIENCES
This posting is for a part-time research position, approximately 8-hours per week, for an individual with good database and statistics skills, who is interested in receiving publication credit on papers/posters related to patients with liver disease or Parkinson’s disease.
Duties will include: data entry from pre-existing score sheets into an excel database; use of SPSS and/or SAS or other software to perform both basic and higher level statistical analyses of the data, in conjunction with guidance from UNMC statisticians; manuscript preparation and publication; and possibly poster presentation(s).
Duration of this project is flexible, but a minimum of 4-months is required.

The Pain Management Program at NE Med is interested in collaborating with a student to build a Microsoft Access Database. The goal is to create a Microsoft Access database, upload the existing data, and use the new database for future data entry.

The City of Omaha is conducting its third bicycle and pedestrian count this month, and need the help of volunteers. (they are hoping to count people moving by foot or bicycle at 25 locations!)
They still need volunteers for two Saturdays:
