Our nation’s current and future challenges make it imperative that the federal government recruit the next generation of public servants, especially with less than 7% of the full-time federal workforce under the age of 30.
The Partnership for Public Service, supported by Schmidt Futures, has created a new opportunity that will place students into the federal government over a summer to gain valuable work experience and make a difference for our country.
Participants in the program will receive:
- A 10–12-week summer internship with two federal agencies and a variety of opportunities for students majoring in STEM, liberal arts, business and more.
- $4,000 stipend to help cover expenses.
- Professional development sessions and networking events throughout the summer.

Also, as a reminder, UNMC participates in the NU system’s Washington D.C. Professional Enrichment Academy program, so any COPH student doing a D.C.-based internship can gain additional value from that program. View more info here.
