Description: This position will be responsible for initiatives related to Department and community priorities specifically addressing health disparities among racial and ethnic minority and underserved populations. Assigned responsibilities include assisting with planning, developing, and coordinating local health equity, environmental justice and minority health initiatives for Department programs and community outreach. The position must interact with Department leadership and external partners from both public and private sectors. The position aims to improve cultural competency and strengthen Department efforts addressing health disparities in the community.

Research Technician, Baby’s First Years Study

The Baby’s First Years  [babysfirstyears.com]study is a groundbreaking randomized controlled trial of poverty reduction in early childhood, and we are hiring! We’re seeking a research assistant to pilot and run lab- and home-based data collection with 4-year-olds in Omaha, Nebraska.

Must have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Child Development, or a related field. Primary responsibilities include assisting with the development and pilot testing of study procedures, successfully scheduling study participants for university-based data collection, administering study visits, uploading data, and engaging in quality control procedures. Individuals in this role may also train and manage research assistants. Duties may include light travel to participant homes. 


Must have experience working with children, and be willing to work weekends and flexible hours.

Preferred qualifications include experience administering standardized
cognitive assessments; experience with EEG; experience working with
families from low-income communities; experience working with REDCap.

Being bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. Omaha locals particularly encouraged to apply.
