Workforce Development and Leadership Program Manager

Training the current public health workforce is a core element of the UNMC College of Public Health Office of Public Health Practice. Opportunities are planned and offered in several modalities (virtual, asynchronous, and in person) for diverse partners (governmental public health departments, non-profits, FQHCs, hospital systems and others). The desired candidate will have skills in facilitation, leadership, management, organizational development, and community engagement. The manager of workforce development programs and leadership training will lead all the workforce development initiatives for the Office of Public Health Practice. This includes the facilitation and coordination of opportunities, recruitment, advertisement, data reporting and enrollment.

Assistant Extension Educator

The Source Water Protection Extension Educator will contribute to the integrated extension land-grant mission of the home unit and IANR, as an effective scholar and citizen, including supporting student recruitment and IANR science literacy.

The incumbent will contribute to Nebraska Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Nebraska Medical Center – Water, Climate, and Health Program, Daugherty Water for Food Global Institute, Water and Integrated Cropping Systems (WICS) programming, the Nebraska Department of Environment and Energy (NDEE) – Source Water Protection Program, the NDEE – Nonpoint Source Management Program, and the NDEE Drinking Water Program. They will facilitate partnerships and collaborate with local Extension partners, community leaders, NRDs, agencies, public health leaders, and other partners to identify needs and resources for communities to address water pollution, climate, and public health issues related to drinking water. They will develop and deliver a research-based education program about Water, Climate, and Public Health related to drinking water. They will use innovative strategies and cutting-edge teaching and learning methods to design, develop, deliver and evaluate programs for a robust extension education program focused on community strategies to protect the source of their drinking water and public health. They will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment with extension professionals and other partners to translate and teach the latest research-based information; and partner with research faculty members in applied research that can enhance educational programming.  They will evaluate program activities and report to project partners, at public meetings, at professional meetings, and in professional publications.
