Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the position of Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator.
Responsibilities: Develops and recommends effective institutional programming that complies with Nebraska Safety Act (including OSHA standards where applicable), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations, and other related state and federal laws and regulations with regard to environment or safety issues. Responsible for providing advice and recommendations in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of the College-wide Environmental Health and Safety management system, security management, all hazards emergency management programs, Chemical Hygiene program, Global Harmonized System, and risk minimization programs to ensure a safe working environment, secure facilities, security of college assets resulting in a safe, secure environment for the college community.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in risk management, environmental health and safety, or related field and experience in environmental health and safety compliance, hazardous material response, emergency management/business continuity, security management and/or insurance claims, or any equivalent combination of experience and education which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties. Strong training and interpersonal skills.
