The Division of Medicaid & Long-Term Care is seeking a qualified individual to participate in the management team for the Programs Section over Health Care Policy Services. The successful candidate will lead and assist the Program Section in accomplishing Division goals and priorities; participate in and oversee policy, legislative, regulatory and budget processes; build internal and external stakeholder relationships; and ensure coordination and collaboration with other units and within the agency.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in public administration, social work, human development, public health, behavioral science, law, finance, human resources or other related field AND four years experience with program management in a human services field directly related to the assigned program area including program planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation and experience supervising/managing staff and resources; OR a Master’s degree in any of the above mentioned fields and two years commensurate experience. Equivalent experience or coursework/training may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. 

PREFERRED: Experience in contract management, health care administration, or demonstration services, budget, legislative and regulatory processes.

Knowledge of quality assurance/performance improvement principles and programs and methods of analyzing continuous improvement; business and management principles including strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, supervision, leadership and coordination of people and resources. Skill in communicating to convey information; using logic and reasoning to develop strengths and weakness of possible solutions to complex problems and evaluate various approaches. Ability to: learn, apply and interpret federal, state, and agency policies and procedures; identify and relate pertinent information to form conclusions, establish program and unit objectives and performance goals and assess progress; identify organizational and operational issues and develop and implement solutions; formulate policies to meet identified needs and goals and apply high level analysis exercising independent critical thinking skills.
