A fellowship opportunity is currently available in the Division of Policy and Assurances, Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP), within the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
OHRP provides leadership in the protection of the rights, welfare, and wellbeing of subjects involved in research conducted or supported by DHHS. OHRP provides clarification and guidance, develops educational programs and materials, maintains regulatory oversight, and provides advice on ethical and regulatory issues in biomedical and social-behavioral research.
OHRP’s Division of Policy and Assurances prepares policies and guidance documents and interpretations of requirements for human subject protections and disseminates this information to the research community. The Division also administers the assurances of compliance and implements the institutional review board registration process.
Qualifications: A Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctoral degree in public health, public policy, law or science, received within the last five years. – A focus on health, as well as research experience, is beneficial.
• Experience in writing papers that address specific aspects of the protection of human subjects in biomedical and behavioral research is a plus.
