Omaha Healthy Start Project Director

Position Summary: Provides overall program oversight for all core and system services of the Omaha Healthy Start program.  Responsible for all contract negotiations and management, grants management, fund development, Community Action Network (CAN) development, coordination of new and expanded program services, fiscal management and coordination of all OHS programs services with the grantee organization (Charles Drew Health Center, Inc.) administrative team and governing boards. 

Position Requirements:

● Education:  Master’s Degree or RN/Public Health Nurse/Public Health preferred.

● Experience: 5 + years proven experience working with MCH diverse population. Experience in Public Health and communicable diseases preferred. Experience in program development and program management; experience in working with diverse racial and ethnic groups in a community based setting; proven organizational skills; experience in managing and tracking multiple tasks; grant writing; Professional education and training with a strong emphasis in public health administration;

Proven fiscal management experience with federally funded grant programs; and experience in working with culturally diverse racial and ethnic groups in a community-based setting and effective customer service and conflict management and resolution skills; Experience/training in utilizing computers and related software including but not limited to, word processing, database, statistical and graphics software desirable.

●Expertise: Excellent oral communication skills, knowledge of available community-based medical, social service and behavioral health providers serving families in the OHS project area; self-starter, knowledge of project target area; strong organizational skills; multi-tasked and flexible.;

● Language: English as a primary language, Spanish speaking helpful
