NE DHHS is seeking a Health Information Manager for its Norfolk Veterans Home. Under general direction, is responsible for managing the health information and medical records for a state facility, including the development, analysis, maintenance, use and preservation of medical records. Supervise the Health Information/Medical Records staff, interpret data for patient care, research statistical, reporting, planning and interact with medical, financial and administrative staff to obtain and relay information; performs related work as required. Supervise and oversee Member Services department; medical appointment coordination for members in and out of facility. Serve as HIPAA Privacy Officer for the facility.
REQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework/training cumulating in Accredited Health Information Technician credentials or Registered Health Information Administrator credentials, plus five years of experience in health information administration.
PREFERRED: Bachelors degree in health information management, business or public/healthcare administration with coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA. RHIT/RHIA. Quality assurance experience; experience with electronic medical records a plus. Prefer five years experience supervising staff. One year experience with ICD-9 and/or ICD-10.
