Chief Operating Officer

NE Department of Correctional Services is seeking a Chief Operating Officer-Health Services.  As an executive team member and under the supervision of the NDCS Deputy Director of Health Services, oversees and manages the business operations of a $34 million department. Administratively ensures NDCS maintains the community standard of care. Oversees compliance of State of Nebraska licensure, CLIA, and American Correctional Association. Oversees and manages laboratory and pharmacy operations. Responsible for credentialing of all licensed staff. Responsible for all health services contracts. Manages the disciplinary function within the Health Services department. Serves as Administrator of NDCS’ three skilled nursing facilities.

REQUIREMENTS: Current, or eligible within six (6) months, State of Nebraska Nursing Home Administrator license. Bachelor’s degree in business management or health care related field. At least three years of experience in a 24-hour health care setting.

PREFERRED: MBA. Experience with accreditation. Collaborative team management style. Experience working in a correctional setting.

NOTE: This is an appointed position by the Director of Corrections and is not subject to the State of Nebraska Classified System Personnel Rules and Regulations.
