Deadline: December 2, 2013
In an effort to address the issues of teen pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections in Omaha once and for all, the Women’s Fund has joined forces with the Sherwood Foundation to create a grant-funded position that will be housed at the Women’s Fund designed to provide support and accountability to the organizations that provide sexual health education and access to youth in our community. This position will be responsible for developing an action plan that will increase education efforts (through WISE – working to institute sexuality education), increase access to long acting reversible contraception, and develop an RFP for a community-wide funding approach based on best practices that will be gleaned from an environmental scan that is currently underway. While this position will report to the Executive Director of the Women’s Fund of Omaha, the person who takes this on will be guided by an advisory committee of key influencers in our community.
A visionary is needed to achieve all of this. Somebody who not only understands how crucial these topics are to women and girls in our community, but who can hold our providers accountable and support their efforts.
