The California Department of Public Health’s Maternal, Child and Adolescent Health (MCAH) is seeking an individual to serve in their Epidemiology, Assessment, and Program Development Branch.
Under the direction of EAPD management and in collaboration with other State and/or contract staff, the incumbent will contribute to the evaluation and analysis of MCAH Programs and MCAH-related issues of interest to the State of California. The results of this work will be disseminated through presentations to key stakeholders and the publication of reports and articles. Data available for research include information on over 500,000 births annually, hospital inpatient discharges data linked to mothers, mortality data linked to newborns and mothers, quality of care data from maternity hospitals, and data from MCAH programs. Current areas of special maternal and child health interest in California include birth outcomes, morbidity & mortality, health disparities, and adolescent health.
